Some of the local buildings are unusual for one reason or another.
Umeda Sky Building - There's a cool observation deck on top.
Sky Building Again - A more distant view from in front of the train station.
HEP5 Ferris Wheel - They take their Ferris wheels very seriously here. That building is about 9 or 10 stories tall, and yes, the Ferris wheel is built on top of it.

Here are a couple of shots of a typical busy crosswalk, say around midday on a weekend.

So I'm sitting in my room reading when I hear drums and yelling. This is what I rushed downstairs to find at street level.

There are lots of shrines in Kyoto. Personally, I like the shot with the lanterns.
Lanterns - I have no idea what the lanterns say.
